SSM Polytechnic Team Shines in 54-Hour Hackathon with “MY-LUNCH-BOX” Social Innovation Startup Pitch

KOCHI: The first ‘Techstars Startup Weekend’ in Kerala, a 54-hour events-based programme designed to provide superior experiential education for technical and non-technical entrepreneurs, held at the Kerala Technology Information Zone, Kinfra Hi-Tech Park, from January 19 to 21.The weekend events, organised by the Kerala Startup Mission (KSUM) and Google for entrepreneurs, are centred on action, innovation, and education. Discussions on business model development and basic prototype creation and demonstration, involving a panel of potential investors and local entrepreneurs, also took place.

In this remarkable display of innovation and collaboration, a team of students from SSM Polytechnic College Tirur, led by Mohamed Ziyad TA, Faculty of Computer Engineering, secured special appreciation in a 54-hour hackathon. The event witnessed participation from over 100 individuals, the SSM team stood out with their groundbreaking project, “MY-LUNCH-BOX.”

The team, consisting of Computer Engineering Diploma student leads from the Institution Innovation Centre – Suhair K, Salmanul Faris K, Sreejith K, Adil Hassan, Vivek, Hisham, and others, demonstrated exceptional dedication and creativity throughout the hackathon. Their unique social innovation startup, “MY-LUNCH-BOX,” caught the attention of judges and fellow participants alike, earning them accolades for their ingenuity.
